What we look for in welding cable & portable cord
Portable cord and welding cable are flexible, heavily stranded constructions that cost a lot new and hold their resale value well. SOOW and SJOOW portable power cord, class K welding lead, stage and entertainment cable and temporary power assemblies are all things we buy regularly.
These materials accumulate around industrial shops, rental companies, fabricators and event contractors. A coil of 2/0 welding lead or a reel of 12/4 SOOW represents real money, and because the copper is finely stranded the recovery value alone is strong even before resale is considered.
We buy new coils, partial coils and used cord in serviceable condition. Used cord with cuts, gouges or missing insulation still gets bought, it simply prices on recovery rather than resale. Ends and connectors already installed are fine and do not reduce the offer.
