Send a reel tag photo and receive a firm number, usually the same day.
Funds change hands before a single reel leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.
You are never asked to sort, measure, strip or re-spool anything. Our team grades the material from photos and our own inspection.
Trucks, forklifts, reel handling and pallet wrapping are billed to us. That cost is already priced into the offer you receive.
Full reels, partial reels, boxed coils, loose cut-offs and several different constructions on one skid are all normal to us.

Straight answers
What kinds of wire and cable do you buy?
THHN and THWN building wire, XHHW-2, MC and AC cable, NM romex, SER and SEU, tray cable, THHN feeder, bare copper ground wire, aluminum URD and MV feeder, fire alarm and low-voltage cable, welding cable and portable cord, plus scrap-grade wire of any description.
Do you buy anything besides wire and cable?
No. Wire and cable is the whole business. That focus is why we price surplus reels better than a general surplus dealer or a scrap yard.
Do I need to sort or measure the wire first?
No. Sorting is never required. Mixed sizes, mixed insulation types and unmarked partial reels are exactly what surplus looks like, and we price the lot as we find it.
Who pays for loading, freight and removal?
We do, and it is already reflected in the offer. That includes reel handling, banding and wrapping, a forklift or boom truck if you have none on site, dock fees and the haul itself.
When do I get paid?
Before the wire leaves your property. Not on arrival at our yard, not after we resell it, and never on consignment.
Is the offer really firm?
Yes. We do not re-trade agreed numbers when the truck shows up. The one exception is a lot that turns out to be materially different from what was described — aluminum represented as copper, or a fraction of the footage discussed.
How is this different from taking it to a scrap yard?
A scrap yard pays for the metal inside and treats the insulation as a cost. We pay for wire that another contractor can pull tomorrow, which is a different and usually higher number. When a lot genuinely is only worth scrap value we say so and quote it as scrap.
What if the reel tags are missing?
Very common and not a problem. Jacket print carries size, insulation type and voltage rating, and reel size tells us roughly how much is left. Send photos of the wire itself.
Do you buy partial reels?
Yes, and they are most of what we see. Contractor leftovers from a finished job are the core of this business.
Do you buy aluminum as well as copper?
Yes. Aluminum URD, triplex, quadruplex, MV feeder and large aluminum THHN all move well, particularly to utility contractors.
What is the minimum lot size?
About a pickup bed, or roughly 500 pounds. Below that the freight math stops working in your favor and a local yard will serve you better.
How fast can you pick it up?
Typically within a week of accepting, and faster along freight lanes we already run. If a demolition date or a lease expiration is driving your timeline, tell us and we will work to it.
Do you buy wire that is still installed?
We quote it in place, but it must be safely de-energized and pulled by a qualified electrician before we haul it. We do not perform electrical work.
What paperwork do I get?
A bill of sale on every purchase, plus whatever your state requires for a metal transaction. If your company needs a specific release or asset-disposal form, send it and we will sign it.
Do you buy from homeowners, or only businesses?
Both, as long as the lot clears the minimum. Most of our sellers are electrical contractors, plant maintenance departments, distributors and demolition crews, but an estate with a garage full of reels is a perfectly normal call.
