Why Sellers Choose Us

What a Cambridge wire sale involves on your end

01You Are Paid Before It Moves

Funds change hands before a single reel leaves your property. There is no consignment and no waiting on a downstream resale.

02No Sorting Or Stripping

You are never asked to sort, measure, strip or re-spool anything. Our team grades the material from photos and our own inspection.

03We Cover Freight and Loading

Trucks, forklifts, reel handling and pallet wrapping are billed to us. That cost is already priced into the offer you receive.

04Mixed Lots Are Welcome

Full reels, partial reels, boxed coils, loose cut-offs and several different constructions on one skid are all normal to us.

The Cambridge Market

A pallet of surplus reels standing in a Cambridge warehouse is an asset, not clutter. We buy it where it sits. Your location inside Massachusetts affects our routing, not the value we place on the material. Sellers are rarely asked to do more than grant yard access. Loading, reel handling and transport are handled by our crews at our cost.

Every construction is in scope. What we see most often in Cambridge is full 500 MCM copper THHN reels off a service upgrade and pallets of 12 AWG THHN spools in mixed colors. Across Massachusetts we also buy multiconductor shielded control cable off a plant retrofit, 2/0 welding lead coils out of a fab shop and VFD cable reels from a pump station project.

Who We Buy From

Our sellers here are typically school and municipal facilities departments, residential builders finishing a subdivision, warehouse and distribution center owners. We also buy from water and wastewater treatment authorities and general contractors on an adaptive-reuse project.

In practice, a handful of scenarios account for nearly every sale:

  • The construction is discontinued or an unpopular color, so it will never be pulled from stock.
  • A storm or fire loss replacement arrived and the displaced stock has to move.
  • The business is closing and remaining inventory is being liquidated.
  • An acquisition brought inventory that does not match the branch's mix.

Pickup and Freight in Cambridge

Getting a truck into Cambridge is routine for us. Tight warehouse docks, alley access and basement storage included. We can load inside an active warehouse without shutting your operation down.

The material is valued on its own merits. The cost of getting it out of Cambridge is absorbed on our side. Sellers who already hold a scrap quote often find the difference substantial, because a scrap figure pays metal weight minus processing and ignores what a full reel with a legible print line is worth to somebody who needs to pull it.

How the Sale Works

Four steps, none of which cost you anything

  1. Send What You Have

A photograph of the reel tags and one wide shot of the pallet is enough to begin. If the tags are gone, photograph the print line on the jacket and we will identify it from that.

  2. Receive a Firm Offer

We respond with a committed cash figure, usually the same day. It is an offer rather than an estimate, and it does not move afterward.

  3. Schedule on Your Terms

Pickup in Cambridge is arranged around your yard hours, shop schedule or dock availability. If a dock appointment or gate code is needed, we work around it.

  4. We Pay, Then We Haul

Payment is completed before anything moves. Our crew performs the loading, the reel handling and the wrapping, and our truck removes it.

Selling Surplus Wire in Cambridge: Common Questions

Straight answers

Do you actually come to Cambridge to pick up the wire?

Yes. Getting a truck into Cambridge is routine for us. Tight warehouse docks, alley access and basement storage included. We do not ask you to arrange freight, palletize anything or deliver material to us.

Do I need to measure or sort it first?

No. Sorting is never a condition of our offer. We grade a lot from photos, the reel tags and our own inspection at pickup.

What if the reels are only partially full?

We still buy them. A full unopened reel is worth the most, but partials sell well, and even short cut-offs have recovery value. Tell us roughly what is there and we will quote the whole lot.

When do I get paid?

Before anything leaves your property. Payment is not contingent on us reselling the material afterward.

Will you buy a few coils in Cambridge, or only truckloads?

Both. A pallet is worth a call, and if you have a warehouse full of aged stock we will quote the entire inventory as one purchase.

Do you buy aluminum as well as copper?

Yes. Aluminum URD, triplex, XHHW and SER all have real resale markets, and we buy them readily. Do not assume aluminum is only worth scrap price.

Have Surplus Wire in Cambridge to Sell?

Call or text photos of the reels and we will return a firm offer, usually the same day.
