What moves the number on Southwire material
- Conductor size, and whether it is a common trade size.

Straight answers
Do you only buy Southwire wire?
No. We buy every print line, and unbranded material as well. The manufacturer affects the resale pool and therefore the price, but it never determines whether we are interested.
My Southwire reel tag is missing. Is that a problem?
Not a serious one. Photograph the jacket instead. The print line repeats along the length of the conductor and usually carries the size, the insulation type and the voltage rating, which is most of what we need.
Is older Southwire stock worth anything?
Frequently yes. Copper does not expire and insulation compounds hold up well indoors. What matters is gauge, construction and storage condition rather than the year it was manufactured.
